Lion of Judah--
Deteriorating paper stuck on the side of a trash dumpster.
I often take pictures of objects that others might not notice. I actually didn’t notice this image for a long time. This is a photograph of torn and decomposing paper on the side of the dumpster. I had walked past this dumpster many, many times and had never stopped. The day I took this photo, I had been thinking about Chagall and his work. I suddenly realized that there was a great image in front of me. It was a bright, sunny day and I usually avoid taking photos in full sun. I also almost always take numerous shots of the same image. I took one single shot of this dumpster and knew it was a keeper.
